************************* City denies link to Essar work-sharing proposal

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The City of Sault Ste. Marie wishes to correct recent media reports stating that Ontario Works and Union Local 2724 members have been in talks with respect to funding a work-sharing program for Essar Steel Algoma workers.

Ontario Works does not subsidize lost earnings and the City has not been engaged in any such discussions.
