Dr. Phil Astin, Chris Benoit's personal physician, has been charged with improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs.
Benoit was considered Canada's top professional wrestler prior to killing his wife and son before committing suicide last week.
Several painkillers and other drugs were found in the Benoit residence.
Astin surrendered to federal officials, who are now overseeing the drug investigation.
