Unfortunately, organizers of the 48th annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival have had to increase the price of the official buttons to $7.

But until December 31, the new buttons can still be purchased for $5 at Wal~Mart, the Athlete's Foot in Station Mall and other locations.

This morning at Wal-Mart, Mr. Bon Soo himself took the wraps off the 2011 pin and carnival organizers disclosed a few details about events planned for this year's event, which takes place from February 4 to 13.

This year's daily prize draws for button purchasers include $100 gift certificates from Wal-Mart and from the Station Mall, as well as discount coupons to many local restaurants, more daily prize draws and admission into many carnival activities.

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (December 8) - Bon Soo buttons are going on sale today!

The buttons will be $5 until December 31.

The price will increase to $7 starting January 1, so hurry into The Athlete’s Foot in the Station Mall and our local Wal-Mart to get your buttons and purchase other Bon Soo items just in time for the holidays.

Bon Soo 2011 runs from Friday, February 4 to Sunday, February 13! The button gives you access to 10 days of carnival fun, including access to: the opening night entertainment and fireworks show co-presented by OLG and Scotiabank; the Tim Hortons Winter Playground, the ever-popular RBC Polar Bear Swim, and many other community events! The Bon Soo Winter Carnival is pleased to announce that OLG will be returning as a sponsor of this community festival for the 21st year and the fourth consecutive year as a presenting sponsor.

In addition, OLG will be the presenting sponsor of the Premier Concert taking place on February 12 at the Essar Centre.

The Bon Soo office has also recently moved to 424-C Pim Street.
