NEWS RELEASE
SAULT STE. MARIE PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
In celebration of the upcoming Earth Day, the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is partnering with Clean North to bring you a presentation from local author Conor Mihell.

Canada has committed to setting aside 17 per cent of its landmass, part of a United Nations initiative to protect biological diversity, by 2020.

As it celebrates the 125th anniversary of provincial parks, Ontario lags woefully behind in achieving this target. Currently, less than 11 per cent of the province is safeguarded from development.

Celebrate Earth Day with local author, adventurer and conservationist Conor Mihell on a tour of Ontario’s protected areas and endangered wilderness as he explores the value of natural sanctuaries.

This presentation is free of charge and will be held at the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library Centennial Library, 50 East St., Program Room on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. To sign up for this presentation please call the reference and information desk at 705-759-5236.
