SooToday.com caught up with Irish Ambassador to Canada Declan Kelly and his wife Anne today, as they exited a private-invitation only function at Algoma University College today.

Mr. and Madame Ambassador are shown with Sault MP Tony Martin, as they headed out to prepare for Taste of Ireland, an Algoma Residential Community Hospice fundraiser held tonight at the Union Hall on Dennis Street.

The Kellys arrived yesterday, participated in a sunrise ceremony at 8 a.m. this morning in front of City Hall, then toured the Bushplane Museum.

They were joined by the Sault Ste. Marie Ambassador Corps and many local dignitaries for a flagraising ceremony at the cenotaph, which also served to kick off Poppy Week.

Saturday, Martin is driving the Kellys to Wawa for a tour, lunch with the mayor and council and a visit to the Lake Superior Provincial Park Interpretation Centre.

The ambassador and Martin are having supper tomorrow with Mayor John Rowswell, former Canadian Ambassador to Ireland Ron Irwin and their spouses.
