************************* Threats uttered - one person arrested

DESBARATS, ON - On Thursday April 23, 2009, at approximately 12:20 p.m. the East Algoma OPP were contacted regarding threats being made towards Central Algoma Secondary School [CASS].

As a result the school was placed in a Code Green Lockdown for the protection of the students and staff.

The Code Green Lockdown was lifted at approximately 2:30 p.m. and the school resumed normal operations.

An employee of ADSB [Algoma District School Board] has been arrested for “uttering threats.”

The employee will appear in Sault Ste. Marie bail court tomorrow.

The investigation is continuing.

All after-school activities at Central Algoma Secondary School have been cancelled this evening Thursday, April 23.

All Central dance classes and Little NBA games have been cancelled.
