After mail delivery was cancelled yesterday in the Sault due to the amount of snow that hit the area for Christmas, delivery is set to resume today.

Canada Post released a statement today that the Sault has been upgraded to a yellow service alert from a red alert yesterday.

Canada Post media relations person Lisa Liu says the upgrade means "we are going to do our best to deliver."

A similar red service alert issued for Sudbury yesterday has been removed with mail delivery back to normal there.

"While our delivery agents are doing their best to deliver through these difficult weather conditions, severe winter elements pose a safety risk to our employees – and others," Liu said. "We are asking Canadians to keep a clear path home by clearing snow and ice from your walkways, stairs, and driveways, and around your mailbox."
