Canada Customs finds grass and a flick knife

************************* Drug-related offences at Canada Customs Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service street team arrested 20-year-old Paul Archibald of 35 Hiltz Road, Heyden, Ontario at 9:56 p.m. on the 12th of December at Canada Customs on Huron Street and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

It is alleged that on the 12th of December at approximately 9:15 p.m., Canadian Customs officers investigated the accused at Canada Customs and found him to be in possession of 232 grams of marijuana.

The accused was arrested and turned over to members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police street team for further investigation.

The accused was also found to be in possession of a knife that opened with centrifugal force (flick of the wrist) which made it a prohibited weapon and a quantity of cash.

All items were seized with the street value of drugs being approximately $4,640.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

************************* Domestic-related arrests Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 47-year-old male at 6:10 p.m. on the 10th of December at his residence and charged him with one count of criminal harassment and one count of breach of a release document.

It is alleged that between the 1st of February 2010 and the 9th of December, the accused criminally harassed his ex-wife by continuously driving past her residence on numerous occasions and during this time he was on a recognizance order not to be within 500 meters of her residence due to previous domestic-related assaults.
