************************ Male arrested for theft at place of employment

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47-year-old Richard Spadafore of #4-700 Pine Street at 1:35 yesterday at his residence and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the 13th of February, the accused while working as a cleaner at a local tavern, stole a charity donation jar containing approximately $70 in Canadian change from behind the bar.

The theft was captured on video.

The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of March.

************************ Shoplifting arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22-year-old Tim Robinson of 53 Copernicus Drive on the 17th of February at 2:47 p.m. at Food Basics on Trunk Road and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that he attended at the grocery store on that day and stole some chocolate bars.

The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of March.

************************ Shoplifting arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47-year-old David Chapman of #118-398 Pim Street on the 17th of February at 6:30 p.m. at Food Basics on Pine Street and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that he attended at the grocery store last night and stole some chicken and popcorn.

He is to appear in court on the 21st of March.

************************ Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male at 9:25 p.m. last night at the police station and charged him with two counts of assault.

It is alleged that between the 1st and 17th of February the accused assaulted his common-law partner and his daughter at their residence.

No injuries were reported and the accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

************************ Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male at 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of disobeying a court order for allegedly communicating with a female he was on court order conditions not to communicate with due to past domestic-related offences.

He is to appear in bail court this morning.
