************************* Male in custody for assault causing bodily harm

BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON - On Saturday, OPP were called to a residence on Frontenac Street around 1 a.m.

Police arrived at the residence and observed a male with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim alleges that when he asked the accused to help him clean up in the kitchen, the accused became angry and physically assaulted the victim by punching and kicking him several times.

The accused then left the residence.

The OPP located the accused a short time later walking on Highway 638 near the Root River Bridge.

Arrested and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm under the Criminal Code of Canada is Caleb Stephen Perreault, 51 years, of 18 Charles Road, Garden River First Nation.

Perreault was held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
