Busketfest announces location change

Donna Hopper, general manager of Buskerfest, advises SooToday.com that a change has been made this morning to the stage locations.

This year, the popular downtown event had tried a second venue near Stone's Office Supply.

But with two venues operating in adjacent blocks, organizers became concerned about traffic and safety problems with people trying to cross Brock Street to the other location.

So this morning, they have moved the Stone's venue down Queen Street.

There are now two venues side-by-side, in front of Smokey's and the Furniture Gallery. Hopper tells us that the event will go rain or shine today.

Buskerfest runs until 11 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

There will be a special show today at 10 p.m. by the Sault's own Karnival of the Grotesk and special guests.

Following that, there's a Buskerfest Cabaret at Loplops at 11 p.m. for those aged 19 and up.
