BULLETIN: Saultites remember Montreal Massacre (5 photos)

Women in Crisis encourages you to ignite your light and speak out against violence

On Thursday, Saultites grieved the 14 women who were shot and killed at École Polytechnique on Dec. 6, 1989. But it was also a chance to grieve and honour all women who have lost their lives to abuse and violence.

Organizations and individuals across the country recognized this day and event in a fight to end violence against women.

Candles were lit for the 14 victims and their stories were shared.

The memorial was hosted by Women in Crisis, who called the community to action to speak out against domestic violence and be a light for change.
