OPP NEWS RELEASE

************************* Brunswick House man died from stabbling

BRUNSWICK HOUSE FIRST NATION - After receiving a 911 call shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday June 28, officers from the Superior East Chapleau OPP Detachment and ambulance responded to Brunswick House First Nation regarding a male that was located in a residence deceased.

Deceased is Eli James Taylor, age 52, from Brunswick House First Nations.

Police are treating this investigation as a homicide and the investigation is continuing.

The post-mortem examination was completed at the Sudbury General Hospital.

The cause of death was as the result of a stabbing.

Investigators continue to interview and collect forensic evidence from the scene.

Acting Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet states: “I am pleased with the progress of the investigation as we move closer to solving this crime.”

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police requested the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police with this matter.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Crime Unit, OPP Chapleau Detachment and North East Region Criminal Operations, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch Acting Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet.
