Gayle Broad has been selected as Chairperson and Executive Lead for the Sault Ste. Marie Community Adjustment Committee (CAC).

The CAC is an independent, non-political committee which has been established to create a comprehensive plan to promote community growth, sustainability and re-training.

Representation on the committee will include: business, economic development, education, employment services, labour, social services and municipal government.

“Gayle will guide and assist the CAC to develop and implement a process that will result in a number of key initiatives to diversify and strengthen all sectors of our community. As an advocate, she will champion community stakeholders to achieve overall success,” says Don McConnell, Planning Director.

Gayle Broad has worked in various areas of community development for over 20 years, and recently retired from teaching the Community Economic and Social Development program at Algoma University. She is the recipient of the 2015 Executive of the Year – Influential Women of Northern Ontario and the 2014 City of Sault Ste. Marie Medal of Merit Award.
