INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE ADMINISTRATION

************************* SAULT STE. MARIE, ON & MI - (January 7) - The International Bridge Administration today announced that one-way traffic crossings of the International Bridge at Sault Ste. Marie totaled 123,555 for the month of December 2008.

This represents a decrease of 18 percent as compared to December, 2007.

Traffic for calendar year 2008 has totaled 1,906,735 vehicles; this represents a decrease of 0.5 percent as compared to 2007.

Since the bridge opened in 1962, over 86.5 million vehicles have crossed the structure.
