The 75 millionth vehicle to cross the International Bridge is expected sometime early Monday.

As of 5:15 p.m. Sunday, the people who work at the bridge tell us 74,998,181 vehicles had crossed.

With 1,819 crossings to go at that hour, bridge officials imposed a blackout on further numbers until 6 a.m. Monday.

The average number of crossings in a 24-hour period is 4,470.

The bridge is planning to recognize vehicle number 75,000,000 with a prize package worth more than $500, including getaway packages from Algoma's Water Tower Inn and Kewadin Casino, as well as 75 free round-trip crossings.

At current traffic rates, they figure it'll be another 13 years before the bridge gets its 100 millionth customer.
