Bridge statistics found to cure insomnia

INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE

******************* The International Bridge Administration today announced that one-way traffic crossings of the International Bridge at Sault Ste. Marie totaled 125,246 for the month of February, 2006.

This represents a decrease of 5.22 percent as compared to February, 2005. Traffic statistics for the month are as follows:

Full-Fare Passenger Cars: 46,324 (-15.5%)

Commuter Fare: 66,705 (+5.2%)

Car Pulling Trailers: 2,823 (-20.3%)

Commercial Trucks: 9,394 (-9.2%)

Total: 125,246

Traffic for calendar year 2006 has totaled 260,713 vehicles; this represents a decrease of 1.2 percent as compared to 2005.

Since the bridge opened in 1962, over 79 million vehicles have crossed the structure.
