Breathalyzer fail. Christopher charged with impaired

23-year-old Christopher Villeneuve of 62 Henrietta Ave. has been arrested and charged with operating vehicle while impaired and exceeding the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. 

On November 30, 2012 at approximately 2:07 a.m., police received an anonymous call regarding an intoxicated male leaving the Canadian Motel on Pim Street in Sault Ste. Marie, driving a red Pontiac Grand Am.

Officers located the vehicle driving north bound on Carmen’s Way and observed the vehicle to be swerving continuously from the centre line into the right lane and then travel north bound straddling both north bound lanes.

The vehicle then turned left on Conmee Avenue without signaling and the vehicle was subsequently stopped on Conmee Avenue, east of Wellington Street West.

Christopher Villeneuve was identified as the driver and was in the company of a female passenger.

In addition to physical signs of impairment, Villeneuve exited the vehicle and was observed to be unsteady on his feet.

He was transported to the police station where he subsequently failed the breathalyzer test.

He will be in court on 07 January 2013.
