************************* Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving hosted their annual regional Born to be Alive conference this weekend.

OSAID students from various schools throughout the community attended the conference in hopes of learning more about the issue of impaired driving.

Sir James Dunn C&VS hosted the event, which began Friday night and ran through to Sunday.

Students slept at the school for the weekend, and attended guest speakers, workshops and leadership-building activities.

The overall goal of the conference was to encourage students to make healthy choices and be leaders in their school and community.

The Number 1 killer of youth in Canada is impaired driving, and seeing so many students come out for the event shows that our community is making great strides in keeping our loved ones safe.

OSAID wants to share its message by educating students on the dangers of impaired driving, in hopes that these students will share what they’ve learnt with their family and friends.

The weekend was a huge success with 70 delegates attending, and OSAID hopes to leave its mark with one simple message:

“Friends don’t let friends drink and drive.”
