***************************** Male charged with assault after town meeting

BLIND RIVER - On January 4 after a town meeting concerning the current water issues in Blind River, a local male was assaulted.

Shortly after the meeting concluded in the council chambers the victim observed his girlfriend in a confrontation with another female.

He attempted to intervene but was grabbed by a male who then pushed him up against the wall and began yelling at him.

The altercation was broken up by people in attendance that had been at the meeting.

Charged with assault is 42-year-old Wayne J. Kropf of Blind River.

Kropf is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on March 3.
