The annual Algoma Ride for Autism is set for this weekend.

The motorcycle ride kicks off Saturday morning at Highland Ford before making the trek north of the city.

The annual event is in support of the autism and special needs community of Sault Ste. Marie and The Algoma Autism Foundation.

Registration runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the ride leaving at 11:30 a.m. and heading north of the Sault to Heyden, through the Bellevue Valley, and passing through Goulais before returning to town at the Esquire Club for post-ride festivities.

The event also includes a number of presentations, a 50/50 draw, silent auction and ride merchandise prior to taking to the roads.

The public is also invited to show their support for the ride.

Over the years, the ride has raised in excess of $100,000.
