UNITED STEELWORKERS ALGOMA COMMUNITY LEGAL CLINIC
************************* Steelworkers release
After 50 days on the picket line, the three members of United Steelworkers Local 8748 at the Algoma Community Legal Clinic settled all outstanding issues on benefits and reached a memorandum of agreement Tuesday night.
The deal calls for a signing bonus and an extra paid statutory holiday.
The strikers returned to work this morning.
************************* Labour dispute settled
The unionized employees at the Algoma Community Legal Clinic began a strike on April 1, 2008.
The staff and board of directors of the Legal Clinic are pleased to advise that, as a result of ongoing negotiations, the parties have negotiated a new three-year collective agreement.
The unionized employees returned to work today.
