When SooToday.com visited the Wabi Sabi fine craft exhibition and sale last year in Richards Landing, we first met Betty.

This year, Betty has a new friend named Agnes.

These two ladies, with their shoes kicked off, shopped till they dropped at this year's Wabi Sabi show.

It took their creator Adele Hill two-and-a-half months to sculpt the life-sized gals out of plaster.

By her work, you can tell Adele doesn't take herself too seriously.

Besides, she flat-out admits it.

The idea of Wabi Sabi art and creation is imperfect and unbalanced pieces.

And that's what Adele loves about the craft.

"It's something fun," Adele said. "I'm always learning and creating something different."

Many of the artists returned from last year's event, including Ted Alleway, Ann Suzuki, and Adele Hill.

Errol Caldwell, a special guest this year, is an award-winning wood turner who creates functional and artistic one-of-a-kind turnings from native and exotic tree species.

Wabi Sabi's exhibition continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Richards Landing Town Hall.

On a completely unrelated note, Richards Landing played host to a triathlon and duathlon yesterday.

The beach was used for the swimming portion of the athletic event so campers Alex Wilson, Skyler Vary, Ty Miller, and Shawn Sharpe had to improvise when it came to cooling off.

They chose the dock down by the marina, in front of The Wharf, as their new swimming hole for the day.

Trying to one-up each other with daring and outrageous jumps, the four Sault boys didn't end up missing the beach by the end of their swimming session.
