CONGRESSMAN BART STUPAK 1ST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF MICHIGAN

************************* Stupak to host discussions on Obama's economic policies in Sault Ste. Marie, Alpena

MENOMINEE, MI - U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak (D-Menominee) will host forums on Michigan's economy and Barack Obama's economic policies on Saturday, September 13 in Sault Ste. Marie and Alpena.

"Barack Obama understands the challenges facing Michigan families and has put forth economic initiatives that will bring new jobs to our state," Stupak said. "The Obama economic plan is an aggressive set of proposals that will help lower our unemployment rate and provide families relief from the high costs of food, energy and health care."

The forums are part of the "Renewing the Economy" initiative launched by the Campaign for Change.

The forums will provide a town hall-like format for Northern Michigan residents to make their voices heard on the most important challenges facing Michigan's economy.

Seating is limited for the events.

Those interested in participating should RSVP online or call 231-392-6287.
