NEWS RELEASE
ALGOMA DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
*************************
The Algoma District School Board, in collaboration with Algoma University, is pleased to announce that Chris Dooley will be coming to Sault Ste. Marie, April 17-19 to share his message with students and parents on growth mindset.

Korah Collegiate, Superior Heights, and White Pines students will have the opportunity to hear Chris speak during the day on the Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19.

Also, on the evening of Wednesday, April 18 we encourage our Sault Ste. Marie community to attend Algoma University to hear Chris share his knowledge and experience. His presentation is called Can’t Miss Growth Mindset.

For over 30 years Chris Dooley has been a basketball coach. He has coached at all levels from high school to university through to provincial and national championship teams and he has received numerous awards for his work.

One of Dooley’s connections throughout his coaching career was with Bill Pangos, father to Canadian basketball star point guard, Kevin Pangos. Together they coached a provincial team in the 80s and have been colleagues and friends ever since. Chris Dooley wrote a book titled Can’t Miss -The Kevin Pangos Story.

Chris’s free evening presentation Can’t Miss is based on material from the book and on what he has learned about attitude and work ethic in helping develop not just world-class athletes, but motivated individuals of any age.

This one-hour presentation has been used across the country to inspire and motivate audiences from elementary school to university classes, from Rotary Clubs to leadership conferences.

It uses the path to professional sports success of Kevin Pangos as a guide to allow the audience to embrace the need of values: that the Growth Process will lead to the desired outcome. If you have passion, you can't miss.
