Assault at bus terminal, charges laid

NEWS RELEASE

**************************** Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested three youths aged 17, 14, and 15 years on the 28th of August at 8:53 pm in the area of Tancred Street after receiving a complaint of a fight at the City Bus Terminal.

When officers arrived they discovered that the three youths had assaulted another youth known to them and also the 17 year-old had assaulted the Terminal Security Guard when he attempted to stop the assault.

The guard and the youth received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

The 17 year-old youth was charged with two counts of assault and one count of cause a disturbance by fighting and is to appear in bail court this morning.

The 15 year-old was charged with cause a disturbance by fighting, one count of assault and one count of breach of a release document for breaching his curfew conditions.

His court date is the 4th of October.

The 14 year-old was charged with cause a disturbance by fighting and one count of assault and his court date is the 4th of October as well.
