A woman is facing a criminal charge of arson after a house on St. Andrew's Terrace was destroyed by fire early this morning, police say.

The woman is accused of setting the fire after a domestic incident that resulted in her spouse being charged with assault causing bodily harm.

She was treated at Sault Area Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, along with three other occupants of the house including the spouse.

Both accused made video court appearances today.

The woman will appear in bail court on Tuesday.

So far, no names have been released by police because of their policy of not releasing names in domestic violence cases to protect the identities of victims.

City Police have secured the burned-out house, awaiting a visit by an investigator from the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office.
