Armed thief hits Elliot Lake convenience store

************************* Armed robbery

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - On Friday, November 20, 2009, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a male subject armed with a weapon attended the C & R Variety Convenience Store on Esten Drive South in Elliot Lake and demanded cash from the clerk.

The subject then fled the scene.

Officers of the East Algoma OPP, as well as the canine unit and emergency response members, attended the scene.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the above robbery is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
