Applications now open for city's Young Entreprenuer program

Are you a student with a creative business idea? 

If so, the city has an opportunity for you! 

Applications are now open for the city's young entrepreneur program – Summer Company, the city announced today in a news release.

This program - open to youth aged 15-29 who are returning to school in the fall - provides funding, training and mentoring to assist high school and post-secondary students in starting a seasonal business.  

Approved participants will provided a grant of up to $3,000 to start and operate a summer business.

The application deadline is May 23, 2022 and there is limited space in the program.

Those interested can register here for a virtual information session taking place on March 30, 2022 from 4 - 4:30 p.m. Full program eligibility and guidelines can be found on the Government of Ontario’s webiste here.   

Over the last 5 years, 60 businesses in the Algoma region were started through Summer Company.
