Algoma Public Health is reporting no new hospitalizations and 110 new cases of COVID-19 in the region, though due to limits on who can be tested, that number may be an underestimation.

Monday's data reflects information gathered over the weekend.

There are currently 391 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, down from 441 on Friday, and 160 cases were resolved.

There are 19 people in hospital with COVID-19, three of whom were admitted due to COVID-19 related illness.

There is one patient in ICU with COVID-19, down from five on Friday.

APH conducted 949 tests over the weekend, with a positivity rate of 11.5 per cent.

Of those eligible, 85.2 per cent of Algoma residents have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
