Algoma Public Health has reported that there are 125 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region, though that number may be underestimated due to limits on who can be tested.

Monday's reported numbers include data collected on Saturday and Sunday.

APH has reported 133 cases resolved in the time since the last report, bringing the number of active cases in the region to 370.

Algoma Public Health ran 1300 tests over the weekend, with a positivity rate of 9.6 per cent.

There are currently 15 people in hospital who have tested positive for COVID-19, seven of whom were admitted for COVID-19 related issues.

There are four people in ICU with COVID-19 in the region.

Of those eligible, 84.9 per cent of people in the region have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
