APH reporting two new COVID cases in Sault area

There are currently six active cases in Algoma and one hospitalization

Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases, both in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Both tested on Oct. 12, one individual was exposed through international travel while the other was exposed through close contact with a confirmed case.

Both individuals are currently self-isolating.

There are currently six active cases in the Algoma region and one hospitalization.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks include:

  • Sault Ste.Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • North Algoma

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 481 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Algoma.
