APH reporting three new COVID cases

There are currently 49 active cases in the region and four active cases in non-Algoma residents who are temporarily in the region

Algoma Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in the region.

All three cases are in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

The new cases bring the total number of COVID cases in the Algoma region since the start of the pandemic to 319.

All three individuals were tested on Sunday and fall under the exposure category of close contact, meaning the individual was infected through close contact with a known confirmed case.

The three individuals are all self-isolating at this time.

There are currently 49 active cases in the region and two hospitalizations.

There are also four active cases in the region that are non-Algoma residents who are temporarily in the region. Those cases are not included in the current active case count.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days include:

  • Central and east Algoma
  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
