************************* Theft of apartment complex security camera

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23-year-old Tyler Kennedy of #101-155 Cambridge Place at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a theft incident that took place at 155 Cambridge Place on the December 2 in which the accused allegedly stole the security camera from the building.

He is to appear in court on January 17, 2011.

************************* Shoplifting arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29year-old Patricia Korte of 55 Bowie Avenue, Toronto Ontario at 12:25 p.m. on December 12 at Wal-Mart and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that she attended at the stole on this date and stole some items.

She was apprehended by store security and held for police and is to appear in court on January 17, 2011.

************************* Internal thefts at place of employment

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male youth on December 10 at his place of employment and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that officers investigated the accused for internal thefts in the amount of $1,005 at his place of employment that occurred between August 26 and November 26, 2010.

The accused is to appear in court on January 18, 2011.

************************* Mischief and drug possession Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Tyler Gagnon of 103 Anna Street at 10 a.m. on December 11 and charged him with one count of mischief and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.

It is alleged that on December 11 at approximately 9:30 a.m. the accused, while in an intoxicated state, attended at a residence of a person known to him on Raymond Street and was banging on all the windows of the residence.

During the incident the accused broke a broke a basement window and also damaged a screen.

Police were called, arrested him on scene and at the time he was found to be in possession of a small amount of hash oil.

The accused is to appear in court on January 17.

************************* Assault and breach of probation Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 43-year-old Lore-Lei Gabow of #214-100 James Street at 12:10 a.m. on December 11 and charged her with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the evening of December 11 the accused attended at a home of a person known to her for a party and while there she assaulted the male homeowner by punching him and scratching him in the face.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result that required medical attention.

************************* Festive RIDE Program results

The RIDE Program was conducted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service once again this past weekend.

There were 455 vehicles checked on Friday evening with one roadside test being administered.

The driver passed.

Weekend property crimes

Break and enters

A business property on White Oak Drive was entered between December 6 and 11 with approximately $3,000 worth of copper wire reported stolen.

An apartment in the 200 block of Lake Street was entered on Thursday or Friday night.

An iPod and a Blu Ray DVD Player were reported taken.

Mischief report

A vehicle in the 100 block Tancred Street on was dented and had the tires slashed.
