We had to look hard. But when SooToday.com took a drive yesterday in search of harbingers of spring, we eventually disccovered them all over town, despite the tenacious grasp of winter. We found boats and jet-skis under tarps ready to be hauled out.

But when SooToday.com took a drive yesterday in search of harbingers of spring, we eventually disccovered them all over town, despite the tenacious grasp of winter.

We found boats and jet-skis under tarps ready to be hauled out.

We found kayaks shining in the sun.

And we found gardening centres gearing up for the season.

Geese were greedily gobbling up tender new shoots of grass on soccer fields while generously fertilizing said fields.

A lone bicycle stood at a bike rack by the Cambrian Mall, first in line for the best spot on the rack.

Summer tourist operators were busy spiffing up their shops.

And those construction rental places were setting their wares in order in anticipation of what Saultites expect will be a bumper construction summer in 2007.
