************************* No body contact advisory - St. Mary's River Lake George Channel

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - (Monday, August 10) - As a result of a combined sewage overflow at the Sault Ste. Marie East End Sewage Treatment Plant, the Chippewa County Health Department has issued a no body contact advisory for areas along the north shore of Sugar Island within the Lake George Channel.

People should avoid body contact with surface waters of the St. Mary’s River in these areas. Chippewa County Health Department will notify the public when the no body contact advisory is lifted.
