École Notre-Dame-du-Sault donates books to the Elliot Lake Public Library

In solidarity with Elliot Lake residents, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) will send several boxes of donated books to the local public library.

The pre-read books, shared by École secondaire Notre-Dame-du-Sault in Sault Ste. Marie, will be popular mainly with readers in the 15- to 17-year-old group.

Since the collapse of the Algo Centre Mall roof in June 2012, the citizens of Elliot Lake have been without a public library, and the community is now rallying around a project to offer this much-appreciated service again.

Fully aware of the importance of reading as a valuable learning and leisure activity, the CSCNO is pleased to support this community initiative and help Elliot Lake residents have access to books once again.

This donation, coordinated by the CSCNO’s Resource Centre, will assist citizens from this community in their efforts to rebuild their collection of French-language books for school-aged children.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence.

The CSCNO provides a quality academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
