************************* Doing business with the Government of Canada - free seminar!

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The Government of Canada spends about $20 billion a year on goods and services and Sault MP Tony Martin wants local businesses to learn more about the bidding and competition process.

In partnership with the Government of Canada’s Office of Small and Medium Enterprises (OSME), Public Works and Government Services Canada, Tony Martin is co-hosting a seminar for area enterprises to come learn about potential opportunities to do business with the federal government.

“Local businesses have been asking for information on how to bid and compete so I am pleased to work with the government to make this happen,” Martin said.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library, East Side, Lower Level, 10 a.m. through noon.

This practical seminar will provide information on the fundamentals of selling goods and services: how the Government of Canada does its buying and what it buys; how to register your business in the supplier registration databases; how to promote yourself; and how to find bidding opportunities.
