************************* Female arrested on outstanding warrant for assault

Forty-year-old Carrie Jones of 894 Bonney Street was arrested on the 29th of October around 7:45 p.m. at Canada Customs on Huron Street on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of assault.

The accused was denied entry into the U.S. when she was stopped and checked in a vehicle crossing the border after the check revealed that she was wanted on the outstanding warrant for assault.

It is alleged that on the 31st of August, the accused assaulted a female known to her behind a local downtown bar by punching her in the face, pushing her into a car door, kicking her and then swinging the car door open to strike the victim.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the assault.

The accused is to appear in court on the 1st of December.
