Steve McNaughton encountered this magnificent bald eagle on Friday near Lake George.
McNaughton and his fiancé were out for a boat ride when they spotted the bird, which was unable to fly.
Using only a lifejacket to protect themselves, they rescued the eagle, with McNaughton's fiancé cut a number of times by its talons.
They turned the eagle over to the Ministry of Natural Resources, which reported that it was healthy enough to fly off later in the weekend.
