All about Saturday's City Council retreat

The following is the official agenda for Saturday's City Council retreat at Algoma's Water Tower Inn.

Council has budgeted $2,500 for the getaway, to be held in the inn's über-tech C-nergy room.

The retreat was first suggested by Mayor John Rowswell in his inaugural speech in December.

"We are human and feelings get hurt," Rowswell said.

"We are not allowed to go behind closed doors to work it out.

"But we need to. So we have to work out rules to deal with each other.

"In the last Council these rules were developed through time.

"It would have been better if we could have done it right from the start.

"So for the viewing public, I am asking for a chance to bring this new Council together.

"I would like to have a retreat so we can talk about many issues on how we want to operate as a Council.

"However, this has to be an open Council meeting to meet the requirement of the Municipal Act. I ask that you give us a chance to work things through."
