Algoma Public Health reports 18 new cases of COVID-19

There are currently 186 active COVID-19 cases and 17 hospitalizations

Algoma Public Health has reported 18 new cases in the region, all in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

This raises the total number of confirmed cases to 741 since the beginning of the pandemic.

So far, 14 of the cases have been classified as close contact, meaning the individuals were exposed to COVID-19 through a known case.

Three cases have been classified as unknown, meaning that the individual had not recently travelled outside of Canada or had contact with any known cases.

One case is still currently under investigation.

The individuals were tested between Nov. 14 and 16.

One cases is currently under investigation, but the rest are self-isolating.

There are currently 186 active cases and 17 hospitalizations.

Algoma Public Health is reminding everyone to:

  • Stay home if not feeling well
  • Limit social gatherings with people you do not live with, especially if you have any high risk health issues
  • Get vaccinated against COVID-19

Cases have been reported in the last 14 days in these regions:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Central and East Algoma
