Applications for this year’s Bridges to Better Business Pitch Competition are now open and organizers want to hear your business ideas. The competition is open to both new and existing businesses.

Bridges to Better Business, hosted by the Millworks - Centre for Entrepreneurship, is an annual event during BDC Small Business Week that is designed to unite the local business community for learning and networking, organizers say.

"This event is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to network with industry leaders, gain knowledge from renowned experts, and showcase ideas," organizers said in a news release.

The event also offers a chance to win a grand prize valued at up to $15,000.

The organizing partners for Bridges to Better Business 2023 are Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Community Development Corp. of Sault Ste. Marie and area, Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, and Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce.

If you or someone you know is an entrepreneur in the Algoma district looking to start or grow a business, organizers invite you to apply. The deadline is Sunday, Aug. 20 at 11:59 p.m.
