A U.S. Airways airbus has made an emergency landing in the Hudson River in New York City.

CNN has interviewed a passenger who says all aboard - reportedly 155 passengers and crew members - have been safely rescued.

After taking off from LaGuardia at 3:11 p.m., the plane went down near 57th Street.

The aircraft is partially submerged in icy waters and appears to be gradually sinking.
