Air quality, electric arc furnace to be focus of Algoma Steel open house

Algoma Steel will be hosting an open house on Thursday.

The Community Open House will take place at the Marconi Cultural Center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Steel plant staff will be on hand to discuss Algoma Steel's initiatives, including:

  • an electric arc furnace update
  • Algoma's sustainability report
  • the modernization of the Plate Mill
  • site greening
  • community air monitoring, and
  • community engagement
