A wild time at the Wellington Square Mall (22 photos)

SooToday.com thought the scorpion and the anaconda were pretty cool. The fox was adorable, the owl was slightly intimidating, and the monitor lizard was a bit scary. We stayed as far away from the tarantula as possible.

And although most visitors to the traveling Little Ray's Reptile Zoo/ Jungle Cat World at the Wellington Square Mall yesterday likely felt Lady Chompsalot the alligator or Shercon the Siberian tiger were the highlights, it was this little guy - Guido the ring tailed lemur - that stole our heart.

He's shown here with Tekar, a safari zoo camp director and wildlife educator with Jungle Cat World located just east of Toronto.

Eight-year-old Guido has been lucky enough to produce offspring in captivity, something Tekar says is very important to his species.

"Unfortunately, all lemurs are endangered, and we'd like to keep that population strong in captivity," she explained. "To reintroduce that animal back into the wild, because habitat loss is one of the major reasons animals are endangered to begin with, there's not going to be much 'wild' to introduce that animal to. We do these shows on endangered species in order to educate people on what we can do to help these animals we share the planet with."

Little Ray's Reptile Zoo and Jungle Cat World will continue to host displays and educational shows at the Wellington Square Mall today until 5 p.m.
