A metal fix from Garden of Bedlam (16 photos)

Buzz (vocals), Josh Belleau (guitar), Derek Turner (drums) and Evan Belleau (bass) are very sweet young men.

Buzz (vocals), Josh Belleau (guitar), Derek Turner (drums) and Evan Belleau (bass) are very sweet young men.

But when they hit the stage as the local metal band Garden of Bedlam, that sweetness is shoved aside and replaced with a ferocity that's really, really fun.

And maybe a teeny bit scary.

The boys of Garden of Bedlam celebrated the release of their debut EP last night at the Canadian Night Club with special guest openers, Sense of Truth.

The evening was tight, intense and loud.

In other words, a perfect metal show.

Both bands are shining examples of a genre that unfortunately flies under the Sault Ste. Marie entertainment radar far too often.

And it's not necessary to be a metal fan to appreciate skill, musicianship and extreme energy that Garden of Bedlam is more than happy to dish out.

Have a listen to Garden of Bedlam here, and Sense of Truth here.

Never fear all you metal fans under the age of 19.

Buzz tells SooToday.com than an all-ages CD release show is in the works.

Keep your eyes peeled to the band's MySpace and Facebook pages for details.

Garden of Bedlam's EP, recorded by Miguel Gauthier at Stereo Soul Studios, is currently available for purchase at the Rad Zone in the Wellington Square Mall, CD Plus in the Cambrian Mall, and Forsaken Tattoo Studio located at 196 Wellington Street West.
