A man smiles on Queen Street East

It's usually not news when someone smiles on Queen Street East, but when that someone is Corey Gardi (shown, right), it's very big news indeed.

It's usually not news when someone smiles on Queen Street East, but when that someone is Corey Gardi (shown, right), it's very big news indeed.

Corey, known to his friends as The Man Who Never, Ever, Ever, Ever Smiles, is Christian Provenzano's campaign manager in the current federal election.

And he definitely was all smiles this afternoon as Christian Provenzano's Liberal campaign headquarters officially opened in the former Goodlife Fitness location at 677 Queen Street East.

Of course, The First Law Of Successful Politics prohibits campaign staffers from ever stealing the spotlight from the candidate.

So Corey tried manfully to keep SooToday.com from photographing his really cute smile.

We succeeded only after enlisting former campaign chair Bill Lindsay (shown, left) to hold him down for this picture, and then getting Corey's mom to instruct him to smile for us.

(The Second Law of Successful Politics states that mothers are the Supreme Source Of All Earthly Power).

Really important stuff we learned at today's event

- Team Provenzano has so far erected 1,100 Christian Provenzano signs. According to Statistics Canada, that's almost equivalent to the number of Saultites aged 85 or older, every single one of whom can be heard saying "What a nice boy" after Christian comes to visit.

FURTHER INFORMATION AND PHOTOS OF GORGEOUS LIBERAL SUPPORTERS WILL BE POSTED AFTER SOOTODAY.COM GETS BACK FROM TONIGHT'S NORTHERN ONTARIO COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. IT WILL PROBABLY BE LATE BECAUSE OUR HORSE IS REALLY SLOW.
