************************* Update on armed male at Queen St and Gore St

City Police have set up a command post in the area of Esposito Park on Central Park Avenue regarding a male armed with a gun.

The media is being asked to attend the command post if they have any questions about the situation.

Please do not approach officers in the contained area.

At approximately 4:39 a.m. this morning, City Police received two calls regarding a male with a gun and shots being fired.

Upon police arrival officers heard gun shots and observed a male running into the area behind O’Aces Bar at Queen Street and Gore Street.

The area was quickly contained and is still being blocked off.

Police negotiators, the Emergency Services Unit and EMS are in the area.

At this time no one has been reported injured.

The public is asked to avoid the areas between Bay Street to the south, Wellington Street to the north, Tancred Street to the east and Andrew Street to the west until further notice. *************************
