(MACDONALD-MEREDITH-ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL, ON) – The body of 34-year-old Frank Keith Guerriero (commonly known as Keith) of Chartwell Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has been recovered from the waters of Lake George. 

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department located the deceased male at approximately 4:35 p.m. yesterday.

The body was located in the water several hundred metres off the shoreline of Ojibway Park, Garden River First Nation in the same vicinity that another snowmobiler was found deceased on Sunday, January 6, 2012.

Missing snowmobiler – Lake George
 
(MACDONALD-MEREDITH-ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL, ON) – OPP advise that the body of a second snowmobiler has been recovered from the waters of Lake George.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department located a deceased male at approximately 4:35 p.m. today.

The body was located in the water several hundred metres off the shoreline of Ojibway Park, Garden River First Nation in the same vicinity that another snowmobiler was found deceased on Sunday, January 6, 2012.

The name is not being released at this time.

Update – search is continuing

(MACDONALD-MEREDITH-ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL, ON) – The search for a second missing snowmobiler is continuing today.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department are assisting with the search.

On Sunday, January 6 at approximately, 2:25 p.m., one deceased male was located in Lake George several hundred metres off the shoreline of Ojibway Park, Garden River First Nation. 

The investigation is continuing

6:30 p.m. update
 
(Macdonald-Meredith-Aberdeen Additional, ON) – On Saturday, January 5, 2013 at approximately 8:14 a.m. OPP were contacted regarding 2 missing snowmobilers in Lake George.
 
Sault Ste. Marie OPP, Anishinabek Police Service, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Helicopter, and Sault Search and Rescue were contacted and attended the area where a search was initiated.
 
On Sunday morning, January 6, 2013, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department attended to assist with the search.
 
At approximately, 2:25 p.m., one deceased male was located in Lake George several hundred metres off the shoreline from Ojibway Park, Garden River. 
 
The search for the other missing snowmobiler continues.
 
The deceased male has been identified as Steven Matte (age 37) of Garden River, Ontario.
 
The search for the second missing snowmobiler continues.
 
Further updates will be provided.

(Macdonald, Aberdeen and Tarbutt Additional, ON) – On Saturday, January 5, 2013 at approximately 8:14 a.m. OPP were contacted about 2 missing snowmobilers in Lake George.
 
Sault Ste. Marie OPP, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Helicopter, Sault Search and Rescue were contacted and attended the area where a search was initiated until dark.
 
The search will be continuing on Sunday morning.
